I would like to thank everyone who participated in the 30th meet of the Mid-Atlantic Narrow Gauge Guild for their participation.

We received some comments and criticisms which we will use to create a better meet next time. One suggestion was to give a detailed description of the hall location for GPS purposes. I will include a satellite map link and directions to the hall on the next set of site updates.

In the meantime, please enjoy the gallery of photos from this year’s meet. Hope you had as much fun as I did.

Well guys it is here. This will be the 30th MANGG meet. Where have all the years gone? Yeah, I know, we are getting to be a bunch of old farts with a few young guys trying to fill in the voids. We have had fun getting here. Actually, there are more than a few younger guys in the mix. Hopefully there will be enough to keep this group going for many years into the future.

Times are changing and people are changing. I believe the number of model railroad hobbyists are shrinking a bit. Last year we were 30+ members short compared to the year before. Hopefully it was caused by the economy and will bounce back this year.

I am very active in the live steam hobby and the amount of money spent on that hobby is shrinking too, possibly because younger members have no idea about real steam locomotives. I have been advertising a new, just-finished 7¼ inch scale Little Engines 2-6-0 for sale, but have had no inquiries up through today. Many manufacturers are making diesels, either gas or electric powered, and they are really sharp. This all being done in 1.6 inch scale for 7¼ or 7½ inch gauge track.

I have not been very active in the 0N3 hobby lately. I see the change in products and quality, but is it better or worse? Everything coming from China, and, from what I hear, only one company is making all the products for all railroad sizes. No telling where we are going but only time will tell.

We sold out of table space and we will have a full building. It will be great to get together again for a fun time. The beef guy will be here for lunch and is also offering dinner. This way you can hang around rather than wasting 2-3 hours at a restaurant for a meal.

See you soon,
